WASHINGTON – The Federal Trade Commission reported that American Indians, African-Americans and Hispanics were the most likely populations to fall victim to credit card related frauds. Such frauds victimized almost 10 million Americans last year, the agency said. Advanced fee loan scams claimed 4.55 million victims last year, the FTC said. Credit card insurance frauds ensnared 3.35 million victims and credit repair scams netted another 2.0 million. Most victims were lured into the frauds by print advertising in newspapers, the FTC reported. Fraudsters used telemarketing in 17% of the cases and 14% used the Internet.
