VIENNA, Va. – Of the 26 Navy FCU member service centers nominated for consideration by the Department of Navy for "Credit Union of the Year," the credit union's Parris Island member service center was selected the winner. Parris Island member service center serves the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island/Eastern Recruiting Region in South Carolina. The center was nominated for the award by Brigadier General J.J. McMenamin, USMSC, Commanding General of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Annually, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller) recognizes the on-base financial institution – including credit union and bank – that provided exceptional service to military and civilian personnel. The recognition is based on recommendations submitted by the base commanders.
