APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – Wings Financial Federal Credit Union is moving forward with its new moniker through a newly-enhanced Web site. NWA Federal Credit Union launched Wings Financial in March and officially changed its name in June to serve air transportation employees through a trade, industry and profession (TIP) charter it received last year. The Web site, at www.wingsfinancial.com, boasts its `CU Online' Internet Banking System, links for checking, savings, loans, credit information and a branch and ATM locator. In the `news and info' section, there are two articles on identity theft and privacy policy. Wings Financial's new Web site comes in the midst of a year-old lawsuit filed by Northwest Airlines for what it claims are logo and mark infringements on the NWA FCU name. According to Northwest Airlines Spokesman Kurt Ebenhoch, the name Wings Financial "is also a matter under litigation." NWA FCU has repeatedly used Northwest signage since 1938 and has had trademarks on the NWA FCU name since 1988, Wings Financial President/CEO Paul Parish has said. Wings Financial recently partnered with AirTran Airways to offers products and services to its 5,800 employees.
