MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group will host a series of online asset-liability management Webinars in September and October to help credit union participants better manage interest rate risk in the changing economy. The Strategic Economic Outlook, 2005 and Beyond session will take place 10 a.m. CDT, Sept. 21 and will focus on being aware that economic trends and forecasts are vital to establishing and executing an effective strategic and business planning process. Led by Dave Colby, CUNA Mutual chief economist, this 60-minute session will provide an overview of the current economy and its implications for credit unions and members. The Maximizing Profits Via Improved Decision Making sessions will take place 2 p.m. CDT, Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29. Tom Farin, CEO of Farin & Associates, will conduct a series of four 100-minute sessions that delve into key choices and resources available to manage deposit cost, growth and retention, and to maximize funding side contributions to total institution value. The Originating Profitable Loans four sessions will take place 10 a.m., CDT, Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26. Farin will also lead these 100-minute Webinars and demonstrate a variety of loan pricing approaches, including cost-plus pricing, pricing loans off investment alternatives, and funds transfer pricing. Participants will need a computer, an Internet connection, Web browser and a telephone.
