ONTARIO, Calif. – The $1.4 billion Coastal Community FCU has joined the CO-OP Network, the largest surcharge-free ATM Network owned by credit unions in the country. Under the agreement, CO-OP Network will provide full ATM, PIN POS and signature debit processing for the credit union that is headquartered in Raleigh. It will provide the credit union membership with surcharge-free access to 375 CO-OP Network ATMs throughout North Carolina and more than 19,000 nationwide. “CO-OP Network’s ability to provide our membership with a statewide and national surcharge-free ATM network is what initially drew our interest,” said Coastal FCU President/CEO Larry Wilson. “However, when we discovered we could use CO-OP Network for all our processing, ATM driving and debit card needs, it became really appealing.” Founded in 1967 to meet the needs of IBM employees, Coastal FCU expanded its eligibility requirements in 1991 to accept select employer groups throughout North Carolina. Now boasting 15 branches to serve its 135,000 members, the credit union is the second largest in North Carolina and among the 60 largest credit unions in the country. Coastal brings an additional 44 ATMs to CO-OP Network.
