WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – It seems every other day a congressman either signs on as a co-sponsor for the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act or backs up the credit union tax exemption. Credit Union Times' just expired voting poll asked just how much of this support CUs will be able to garner. Almost half of respondents thought it would be too ambitious to think that credit unions could get support for CURIA and the tax exemption in all 50 states. However some 24% of respondents did indeed think this goal could be reached. Here is the poll question and results: Do you think credit unions will be able to garner official lawmaker support for CURIA and the tax exemption in all 50 states? * Yes, definitely, 23.39% * No, that's too ambitious, 45.76% * For CURIA yes, but not the tax exemption, 13.56% * For the tax exemption yes, but not CURIA, 9.83% * Not sure, 7.46% * Total Votes: 295
