ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Last week, NCUA alerted credit unions to changes to Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List. "All credit unions remain responsible for ongoing review of the SDN list, which includes both individuals and countries," Regulatory Alert 04-RA-10 read. A current SDN list is available at http://www.treas.gov/offices/eotffc/ofac/sdn/index.html. The alert, signed by NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson, continued, "Given the significant impact the SDN list has on the nation's security, it is important for credit unions to check the SDN list frequently at the Web site listed above or by calling the OFAC Fax-on-Demand Service at (202) 622-0077." OFAC also publishes periodic changes to its SDN list via email through its Financial Operations Bulletin, which credit unions can subscribe to at http://www.treasury.gov/offices/eotffc/ofac/subscribe.html.
