BOSTON – In the hubbub surrounding the Democratic National Convention taking place here, CUES proceeded along with its Advanced Leadership Institute that took place during the same time. The week-long institute, which kicked off on July 25 at Harvard University's Business School, had 60 participants and was coordinated with the California Credit Union League. CUES did not plan any activities related to the DNC. "It just so happens that the leadership institute was scheduled during the same time as the convention," said Teri Schacker, CUES vice president of marketing. Schacker said the Institute went smoothly and the only problem they experienced was trying to locate a photographer for a photo shoot. "I think many of them had left town," she said. CUES plans to have the Advanced Leadership Institute in Boston again next year.
