MANCHESTER, N.H. – At the April 28th meeting of the House of Representatives, Congressman Jeb Bradley (R-N.H.) read a statement for inclusion in the Congressional Record recognizing St. Mary’s Bank President Ron Rioux for his work in helping low-income families in the state achieve the goal of homeownership. Rioux, chairman of the New Hampshire Credit Union League, was instrumental in obtaining a five-year pledge from 35 credit unions in the state to give $35 million to fund affordable housing programs. The money will be used to help low-income individuals buy homes, take care of necessary home repairs, pay utility bills or help with medical needs. “Ron Rioux believes strongly in the adage that each credit union is an integral part of the community it serves,” the congressman stated in his speech to Congress. St. Mary’s Bank, the second largest CU in New Hampshire, has more than $485 million in assets and more than 50,000 members.
