RALEIGH, N.C. – Who says youth club mascots are just for kids? State Employees' Credit Union is using its kids club mascot FAT CAT to not only have fun but help build relationships and brand awareness across the state. Recently SECU's FAT CAT mascot along with representatives from SECU's education services department hiked the Hill to welcome members of the North Carolina legislature to the State Capitol with bluebird houses. The houses are part of the SECU "Bluebird project" that SECU teamed up with Newell Farms Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to help restore the state's bluebird population. "It seemed a natural fit to welcome them with a gift that represents the credit union's highly successful community service project while also providing us an opportunity to talk with our members and potential members, " said SECU Senior Vice President of Education Services Leigh Brady. " What better way to show legislators here just how credit unions are making a difference?"
