WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Credit unions in the Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida Credit Union League recently teamed up to host a Governmental Affairs Committee picnic for members. Over 325 consumers attended the event to learn more about local and state candidates up for election and their stand on the credit union movement. Some 23 local and state candidates up for election stopped by to meet members and were given a few minutes to introduce themselves and the office they are running for. In addition, attendees had an opportunity to register to vote and view the new and improved voting machines which were onsite provided by the Palm Beach County's Supervisor of Elections Office. Also on hand for entertainment were interactive disc jockey/dancers, a water slide, and a clown offering face painting and balloon sculptures.
