PHOENIX, Ariz. – Gary Isner, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Arizona Credit Union League died July 15 after a six month battle with cancer. He was 60 years old. Isner was with the ACUL for 19 years, beginning in May 1985 as vice president. He was promoted to EVP/COO in April 1987 and EVP/COO of ACUL Services Inc. in November 1995 where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of ACUL Services. Before coming to work at the Arizona League, Isner was general manager of Energy FCU in Maryland, an independent agent with American Bankers Insurance, deputy manager of CNS FCU, and director of operations of NASA FCU. Isner was also a member of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL), a graduate of the League Management Institute, and was serving as vice-chairman of ACUL Services Inc. “Gary was dedicated to the credit union movement and most significantly spent his time and energy working toward the continued growth and financial stability of the credit unions in Arizona. His mission was to provide the best services to help credit unions continue to thrive. All of us at the League grieve over the loss of a truly wonderful person,” said ACUL President/CEO Gary Plank. Isner is survived by his wife Nina, two grown sons Danny and Gary Jr, daughter-in-law Sarah, and granddaughter Simone. A memorial service for Isner was held July 22. The family is asking that donations in his name can be made to the Children’s Miracle Network in care of the Arizona Credit Union League.
