FRISCO, Texas – It is almost exactly a year since IntegraSys was sold off by EDS and acquired by Fiserv, and a lot has changed. The company has finally moved out of its office space in an EDS facility in Plano, Texas and into a new building in nearby Frisco, Texas where it occupies the top two floors of the six story building, In fact at press time, the building was set to be adorned with IntegraSys signage as it is the largest tenant. From all signs IntegraSys is loving life under Fiserv’s umbrella. “Fiserv is a corporation that is committed to the industry, it’s a strong and stable player,” said Sara Brooks, IntegraSys SVP of Marketing and Offerings Development for IntegraSys. In the EDS days, it was relegated to advertising and other promotional efforts under the larger EDS corporate name. IntegraSys is now also doing its own individual campaigns. Brooks noted IntegraSys’ new brand campaign makes it clear that IntegraSys, while a Fiserv subsidiary, is its own entity. “We do reference that we are a Fiserv business unit, but we do operate autonomously from the other Fiserv business units. We are part of the Fiserv family and are very proud of that, at the same time we bring something unique and slightly different than other Fiserv business units and other competitors.” The new brand campaign features the tagline “IT works” and plays on the theme that IntegraSys goes beyond just information technology and creates what it calls IntegraSys Technology. Brooks said it’s about the attributes and intangibles it brings as a company, not just about software. “It’s really about taking the knowledge we have both of technology and the industry, marrying those two things together to be in line with what the credit unions need in order to grow and streamline business processes,” said Brooks. Case in point said Brooks is IntegraSys’ new Virtual Branch Business Center. It’s a suite of business products, that has a tech tie-in, but are more about helping credit unions meet the needs of business members. It offers payroll processing, lines of credit, accounts receivable management and others. It partnered with CDS Companies and PayMaxx to put their products into the new solution. Dave Selina, SVP and General Manager of Virtual Branch, XRoads and Industry Services for IntegraSys, said of course there is an underlying technology thread for most of the product line, but he considers this more of a consulting approach where IntegraSys wanted to help its clients get into the business arena. “It’s all technology dependent, all delivered by the Internet, but it’s fair to categorize it not as a technology play per say, but rather a creative, innovative technology company going to our credit unions and saying here is a way to go to small businesses with a portfolio of services they’re going to find attractive,” said Selina. Selina said when IntegraSys looked at credit unions’ capability to serve small business it noticed they were short on products, especially small and mid-size CUs. He said it’s especially attractive to the small and mid-sized CUs who don’t have the resources to home grow business services. The $44 million A-K Valley FCU in Lower Burrell, Pa., is the first CU on the product. The product can be Integrated with IntegraSys home banking product, VirtualBranch, or used on a stand-alone basis. IntegraSys wanted the business suite to be affordable to entice CUs to get in the business game. The payroll processing service for example can be had for just under $600 a year for 11 or fewer employees, said Selina. Another key strategic area IntegraSys identified was cashflow, the lifeblood of a small business, Selina said. He should know he was part of the Cavion start-up in the `90s that had many successes, but cashflow was often an issue. With identifying cashflow, IntegraSys went to CDS for lines of credit that credit unions can offer business members. Of course since it’s a financial product, the CU may want to offer it on its own, but CDS provides an option for those CUs not interested or able to. “The credit unions will get a report showing all the (LOC) activity. At any time they can say they’d like to use credit union money,” instead of CDS, said Selina. Another interesting product is Enterprise Check Cash Optimization. It provides the small business with a Check 21 compliant desktop scanner that allows the business to capture checks, convert to ACH and send over the Internet. [email protected]
