WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The majority of voters feel overdraft protections don't need additional regulatory scrutiny. Overdraft protection, a burgeoning product among credit unions, was the subject of the just expired Credit Union Times online voting poll. The question and results are as follows: Overdraft protection has been under the regulatory microscope of late. Some believe the service, which covers a member's bounced check for a fee, should carry with it an annual percentage rate like those seen on lending products. Others feel that overdraft protection programs shouldn't be aggressively marketed by credit unions as they can encourage bounced checks. What do you think? * OD programs should include an APR - 7.58% * Regulators should rein in aggressive marketing of the programs - 11.37% * OD programs should include APR and marketing should be regulated more closely - 15.17% * OD programs are fine the way they are - 61.14% * Not sure - 4.74% Total Votes: 211
