LAUREL, Md. -Tower Federal Credit Union has dedicated its Visitor Control Center branch in memory of Branch Manager Pamela Lewis, who exemplified over 23 years of service excellence, leadership, and teamwork. Lewis died in December 2003. “Pam set the threshold of how to manage, leaving a legacy at Tower Federal Credit Union,” said Richard Brake, senior vice president of member services. The dedication ceremony concluded with a formal ribbon cutting and presentation of the Lewis Branch memorial plaque. The Pamela Lewis branch, located in Fort Meade, Maryland marks the second Tower FCU branch to be dedicated to an employee. In 1984, Tower’s old headquarters building at Ft. Meade was renamed to the Judith A. Bergin Memorial Building in honor of Judith Bergin, branch operations manager. Lewis was actively involved in Tower’s fundraising efforts to benefit cancer research organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Lewis began her career at Tower as a teller in 1980, was promoted to branch floater in 1983, moved into the position of assistant teller supervisor in 1984, and became a loan representative in 1986. In 1990, she accepted the Laurel Branch Assistant Manager position, and in 2000 was promoted to Branch Operations Supervisor. In October 2003, she accepted her final promotion to Visitor Control Center Branch Manager.
