WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Credit union political support is booming these days, but can it reach into every corner of the country? Including members of Congress officially backing the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act and those who have spoken out in favor of the credit union tax exemption, approximately 90 lawmakers are supporting CUs in one of these ways. However not all states are represented. That brings us to the next Credit Union Times voting poll. The question is as follows: Do you think credit unions will be able to garner official support for either CURIA or the tax exemption in all 50 states? * Yes, definitely. * No, that's too ambitious * For CURIA yes, but not the tax exemption * For the tax exemption yes, but not CURIA * Not sure (Editor's Note): See page 22 for the results of the expired voting poll on overdraft protection.
