ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU staff is taking what they learned in Boy Scouts and putting it to good use: Be Prepared. NAFCU is just kicking off its Annual Conference and the group is already announcing some of the speakers for its Congressional Caucus, to run from Sept. 26 through 29 in Washington, D.C. Radio Commentator and former Iowa Congressman Fred Grandy, better known as Gopher from The Love Boat, will keynote the event. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), who is charged with drafting the regulatory relief legislation, will be speaking, as well the lead Democrat on the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 3579), Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.). NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and Board Member Debbie Matz have accepted the invitation to speak. Federal Reserve Board Governor Ed Gramlich will also be making an appearance.
