NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – John Proos, deputy chief of staff and district director for Rep. Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) was recognized as the 2003 Michigan Credit Union League Legislative Staff Member of the Year. Proos, a nine-year member of Upton’s staff, is a candidate in the Republican primary for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 79th District being vacated by term-limited Rep. Charlie LaSata. Dave Weichhand, president/CEO, First Resource FCU, St. Joseph said Proos “has been a valued and trusted friend to the 27 credit unions in Michigan’s 6th Congressional District, and the credit union movement. We are grateful to John for his tireless work and his ability to represent the needs of some 290,000 credit union members in the district – and the more than 4 million credit union members throughout Michigan.”
