VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Credit union executives in town for the NAFCU Annual Conference may want to extend their stay in a city that boasts there is literally "something for everyone". Here is a look at what can be found both in and outside a city that is bordered by mountains, the ocean and the1,000-acre Stanley Park: Orcas have hit the streets! Orcas in the City is a public art project to raise funds for the BC Lions Society's Easter Seal Operations and the Canucks' for Kids Fund. Official walking guides can be found at the Tourism Vancouver Tourist Information Center at 200 Burrard Street. You'll find food, shopping, live music, and maybe even a celebrity or two on Robson Street. The city is earning quite a reputation as "Northern" Hollywood in fact feature films such as Daredevil spin-off Elektra and television's Smallville are just two projects currently in production here. There are gardens galore here-even in Chinatown where tranquility can be found at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Attendees looking for a walk or ride on the wild side will be thrilled with the many hiking trails, suspension bridges, and adventure activities Vancouver has to offer. Those who dream of white water rafting or riding mountain bikes down ski slopes can drive two hours on the Sea-to-Sky highway to Whistler.
