HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. – Evan Childs, director of governmental affairs for the New Jersey Credit Union League, left his position there to work as senior account executive with New Jersey Network Television and Radio. Childs’ last day with NJCUL was July 2. Childs was with NJCUL since May 2002. Prior to being named director of governmental affairs in June 2003, he was director of public relations. Before coming to work at the League, he worked as Chief of Staff to two former members of the New Jersey State Legislature. He has a political science degree from Montclair State University where he also studied law. In announcing his departure plans, Childs said, “The past two years have been a tremendously rewarding experience for me and I hope for you as well.This is truly a critical and exciting time for the credit union movement, with the ongoing tax threat as well as the pending legislative issues. When everyone comes together, this movement is second to none and can achieve anything it dreams to accomplish.”
