WASHINGTON – The National Association of Community Credit Unions will hold its Sixth Annual Conference this October in Phoenix. The theme is "Elements of Successful Community Credit Unions". Speakers include NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson and Dr. Carl Hammerschlag, an author, physician, speaker and healer. He will talk about maintaining a competitive edge in today's rapidly changing environment. New this year will be the naming of the first Community CU of the Year by NACCU. According to NACCU, it will recognize a community credit union "that best exemplifies the principles of the credit union movement while serving as a positive influence in its community." NACCU Chairwoman Grace Mayo, CEO of Telesis Community CU, will make the announcement. NACCU has 110 CU members.
