BURLINGTON, Vt. – The U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan are still very much on the minds and in the hearts of NorthCountry Federal Credit Union staffers and members. The credit union has shipped some130 boxes totaling 2,872 pounds to 25 locals serving overseas. The boxes included items ranging from toiletries and snack foods to socks and CD players. “People from across Vermont went out of their way to contribute generously to this project,” said NorthCountry FCU CEO John Benoit. “The message was clear: Vermonters support their soldiers and look forward to their safe return.”
