Chetco Federal Credit Union, Brookings, Ore., has donated some $750 worth of souvenir water bottles to the 2004 Oregon Coast Cycling Festival. The Festival is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and the Curry Health Foundation. The Festival’s goal is to raise $5,000. Each cyclist receives a souvenir water bottle as part of their registration. Visions Federal Credit Union, Endicott, N.Y., employees have donated their time and bowling talents to the Assemblyman Bob Warner Pin Crushing Tournament to benefit Broome/Tioga ARC, which helps those with developmental disabilities live their dreams. Each year Visions FCU participates with two teams. SRP Federal Credit Union, North Augusta, S.C., staffers donated their time and elbow grease to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. The credit union hosted a carwash at both the North Augusta and Silver Bluff Road branches. Each branch raised over $300 for a combined total of $671. Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, has raised over $33,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the annual Penny Drive. The money collected by SSFCU, in partnership with radio station KCYY “Y100,” allowed the Make A Wish Foundation to reach their $50,000 goal for the 2004 Penny Drive. All the monies collected went directly to the Make A Wish Foundation’s South Central Texas Chapter whose main goal is to grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Lowell, Mass., staffers have donated their time and culinary skills to the House of Hope, an emergency housing shelter for women and small children. JDCU employees worked together preparing and serving meals to residents while baking an assortment of desserts for the children. Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Manhattan Beach, Calif., has raised $4,500 during the 11th Annual Revlon Run/Walk for Women. To date, the REVLON Run/Walks have distributed $30 million for cancer research, counseling, and outreach programs.
