LIVE OAK, Texas – As part of the grand opening festivities for its 120,000-square foot Creswell Administrative Service Center June 2, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union made a commitment to continue the tradition of living its mission – to improve members’ economic well-being and their quality of life. With assets exceeding $2 billion, Randolph-Brooks is among the top 25 credit unions in the country. “We serve hard working families in several underserved areas of South Texas,” said President and CEO Randy Smith. “As a way of demonstrating our philosophy of `people helping people’ and in an effort to help residents in these communities, we are making contributions to five charitable organizations,” explained Smith. The five charities, each of which received $500 donations from the credit union, include the San Antonio Lighthouse, the Wilson County Senior Citizens Center, the Lockhart Child Development Center, the Silver Center in Seguin, and the Society for St. Vincent de Paul in Austin. In addition, CUNA Mutual announced that it would match the donations in honor of the credit union’s grand opening. “CUNA Mutual Group would like to demonstrate our commitment to Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union and the hard working families in [the credit union's] field of membership,” said Jim Gowan, chief officer of sales and marketing. “As a partner, we would like to match the contributions made to the five charitable organizations.” “What is significant about the contributions is not the amount of money donated, but who we donated it to,” said Sonya McDonald, Randolph-Brooks vice president of sales and marketing. “We selected organizations that have the ability to directly impact people living in these underserved communities.”
