HARRISBURG, Pa. – David Zuern, president/CEO, Waypoint Financial Corp. was elected chairman of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, effective July 1. Zuern served as state Secretary of Banking under former Gov. Tom Ridge. The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association described him as being a "proactive Secretary" who was responsible for establishing roundtables with credit unions throughout Pennsylvania. PCUA President/CEO Jim McCormack said Zuern "was a friend of credit unions when he was Secretary of Banking. We look forward to working with him for the betterment of all depository institutions, as well as consumers, and less on the frivolous item of trying to tax non-profits."
