I am a 20-year employee of CUNA Mutual Group and a member of the union. I want to thank Mike Welch for his May 19 column, "When CMG and OPIEU Have a Standoff, CUs Lose." With all of the mud-slinging that is going on between the two sides, it is refreshing to hear a voice of reason. Neither side is completely right or wrong, and as Welch pointed out, they both have had their share of being unreasonable. Most of us wonder where we are headed in the coming months since we don't see any movement on either side. I certainly hope a strike isn't in our future, as that could be devastating to both the company and the employees. Until we see progress on one side or the other, we will continue to serve our customers and work to keep CUNA Mutual Group strong. Thank you again Mike for being a voice of reason in an otherwise unreasonable situation. Mark Walker ITS Database Administration Analyst. CUNA Mutual Group Madison, Wis.
