TALLAHASSEE, Fla – The $3.9 billion Southeast Corporate recently held its 29th Annual Meeting in Key West. Members heard from renowned economist Wayne Angell, who predicted that although the Fed will increase targeted Fed Funds rates, it will not increase as aggressively as the market currently anticipates. Other speakers included tech expert Bill Eager, who emphasized the importance of credit union Web sites being portals; NAFCU economist Tun Wai, who stressed the importance of credit unions getting better penetration with the 18-24 age group; among others. The board also elected the following officers who will serve until the 2005 Annual Meeting: *Chairman: Tim McMurry, president/CEO PowerNet Credit Union *Vice Chairman: Jim Mitchell, president/CEO Army Aviation Center FCU *Treasurer: Linda Darling, Executive Vice President/CFO Suncoast Schools FCU *Secretary: Joe Mangum, president/CEO Mississippi Telco FCU Additional board members include Ron Fye, president/CEO Florida Commerce Credit Union and Ron Gracie, president/CEO Coastline FCU.
