We apologize for the inconvenience.” The cardholders still swiped their card, but one thought it odd that the word “apologize” in the notice had been spelled with two p’s. The cardholders called customer service for First Tennessee, the ATM’s owner, and discovered that the bank had not installed the device or the sign. Police are investigating the case, the bank said.
