DAYTON, Ohio -Metavante, which manages 9,000 ATMs across the country, has certified NCR’s “No-envelope” deposit technology. Metavante of course is becoming a bigger player in the EFT market with its plans to acquire NYCE for $610 million. Metavante has certified NCR’s bunch-note acceptor component and iTRAN 1000 check-processing module, which gives institutions the ability to offer check imaging at the ATM. This, said NCR, becomes more important as financials look to comply with the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act and the anticipated check truncation and image-exchange environment. In February of this year, Metavante also certified NCR’s latest release of its APTRA Edge software that drives advanced functionality for the ATM channel. “More and more financial institutions are reviewing their deposit-taking functions and discovering the self-service channel offers great advantages. With NCR’s assistance, we are ready to deliver a complete image solution for the ATM channel,” said Frank D’Angelo, executive vice president and group executive, Metavante Electronic Funds Group.
