SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana Federal Credit Union is helping children brush up on their reading skills. The $68 million credit union has donated 11 computers to the Reading Corners program to be used at their children's literacy centers. Computers and other equipment will be used to reinforce literacy skills and teach basic computers skills to the children in the program. Reading Corners Programs are led by volunteer parents who have started centers in apartment complexes throughout the city. There are 12 Reading Corners locations, which serve an average of 1,200 children per week. Many Reading Corners have also established connections with area elementary schools, sharing information on student progress and themes that are covered in class.
