HONOLULU – Hawaii Credit Union League Board Director and former Chairman Goro Hokama has died at the age of 75. Dedicated to the credit union movement since 1946, Hokama served on several credit union boards including Lanai Federal Credit Union and the Hawaii Credit Union League. In addition to serving as HCUL Board director from 1999 to 2004 and chairman from 2002 to 2003, Hokama was a member and chair of the HCUL governmental affairs committee and a bylaws committee member. A longtime defender of labor rights, he also served on the Maui County Council Board for over 40 years, 16 of which as chairman. Hokama is survived by his wife, two brothers, a son, daughter and two grandsons.
