NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Bator Training & Consulting, Inc. (BTC) and Great Lakes Estate Planning have linked up to help bring trust services to credit unions. BTC is a training and consulting firm providing marketing and management services to credit unions and corporate credit unions. GLEP provides a number of estate planning services including living trusts, private annuity trusts and family foundations, said Doug Throneburg, managing partner of GLEP. BTC President Ken Bator said based on a recent survey and focus groups conducted in the Midwest, credit unions have expressed interest in offering trust services provided more information is made available to them on how to present the offering to members. Bator is a former vice president of marketing at Mid-States Corporate FCU. Throneburg is also a former executive at the Mid-States. “The more credit unions can offer to establish themselves as the primary financial institution, the better off they’re going to be,” Bator said.
