EECU, Fort Worth, Texas, has been chosen as the Community Group Volunteer of the Year by Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. Guests were treated to a real red carpet affair with hors d'oeuvres, a live band, dancing, and awards. The credit union was recognized for its efforts in making the patients' time at the hospital more enjoyable from sponsoring parties to raising money for much needed toys. Orange County's Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif., Lake Forest branch has been presented the Members First Award by Staff Sergeant Sean Sargeant of the United States Marine Corps. Branch staffers were recognized for their genuine concern for the welfare of their member, his family and his Marine unit, while he was deployed to Iraq from January to September 2003. The employees received the award for "caring enough to think about what goes on outside the office."
