HOUSTON – The name change count keeps rising with Houston Energy Credit Union changing its name to First Service Credit Union. According to First Service CU President/CEO Jerry Shrode the name change is a major step in the credit union's transformation to a community-based credit union. With the tagline Your Banking Solution, the credit union is also rolling out First Freedom, a young adult checking product; a mature member checking product called First Platinum for members age 50 and over; and First Rewards, a new relationship pricing model that will offer discounts on loans and bonuses on CDs based on the types of products/services members have with First Service CU. To introduce the new name several kickoff events including Financial Fitness Seminars and activities with local chambers of commerce are planned throughout the month of June
