RALEIGH, N.C. – State Employees CU and State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) have teamed up to help encourage voter registration in the state to host a voter registration drive from May 17-28 at all 169 SECU branch offices. Banners and posters will be displayed at the branches to promote the drive, and voter registration forms will be available throughout the two-week event. SEANC representatives will also be present at all 169 locations on May 28 from 10 am to 2 pm to assist members with the registration process and collect registration forms. “By taking part in the election process, every citizen has an opportunity to have a say in who leads our state and our nation. Unfortunately, many forfeit the opportunity by not registering to vote. As an organization, we want to encourage all citizens to take advantage of the voting privilege we are given by living in a democratic society. By hosting this voter registration drive in all SECU branches, we are giving members 169 convenient locations to complete the registration process and have the ability to cast a vote in the next election.” Voters who register during the drive as well as current registered voters will have an opportunity to register for a chance to win an American flag valued at $35. Ballot boxes will be located in all SECU branches and there will be one winner per branch. The drawings for the winners will be held in June, and all winners must be registered voters.
