SAN DIEGO – PETCO Park attendees can't help but learn about North Island Credit Union. PETCO Park is the new 42,000-seat home to Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres. Every aspect of the baseball stadium was designed to celebrate the elements of San Diego through sea, sky, sun and spirit. As part of a move to reinforce the $1.3 billion credit union's fun brand image, advertisements have been strategically placed on a series of mini scoreboards around the ballpark, a paver display in the walkway leading up to the park and on a full-page in the San Diego Padres 2004 yearbook. According to North Island CU Executive Vice President of Member Relations Geri Dillingham, the ads were kept "simple and carefree to convey the credit union's commitment to keeping financial business worry-free for members". The stadium advertisements, which appear on eight different scoreboards throughout the park, feature the credit union's "polymorphous paradise" artwork, which depicts scenes from around San Diego. "We are proud to support the Padres," said Dillingham, who believes that the baseball team is a perfect fit for the local credit union. "As a member-owned financial cooperative, teamwork is a priority to us, just like the Padres!"
