CHATSWORTH, Calif.-Telesis Community Credit Union has earned Preferred Lender Program status from the Small Business Administration. “Combining our PLP authority and the ability to credit score the business owner’s loan request will give us the leverage to better serve our small business members. When small business owners come to us for their financing needs, we can give them a better turn-around time on their SBA loans. The faster we can approve an SBA loan, the faster our small business members can meet their financial goals,” Telesis President and CEO Grace Mayo said. PLP is the top of three SBA lender categories. Telesis is the first credit union in California to receive this designation. As a PLP member, Telesis has earned the right to a streamlined process and added flexibility in loan application and servicing requirements; expedited loan approval and other SBA decisions; and authority to originate and service guaranteed loans in the same manner as other loans. Telesis, headquartered in Chatsworth, Calif., has been an SBA lender since 2001. The credit union serves over 31,000 members and has over $420 million in assets.
