FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The joint 10-member task force representing Washington and Oregon credit unions and studying the feasibility of a consolidation of the Washington Credit Union League and the Credit Union Association of Oregon plans to meet this week to decide if they've gathered sufficient information to make a recommendation to the two organization's boards regarding the consolidation. WCUL President/CEO John Annaloro said there are several options the task force can present to the boards. It can say it needs more information, or that it has enough information but a consolidation doesn't make sense, or it can recommend consolidation. Annaloro said the task force is queued for the meetings the WCUL Board and CUAO Board intend to hold in May. If the task force recommends consolidation, it will then be up to the boards to determine if they want to propose the move. "The Washington Credit Union League and Credit Union Association of Oregon have been talking consolidation for about 20 years, so obviously there's no urgency and they want to be very thorough," said Annaloro.
