Troutman Named NASCUS EVP of Government Relations

ARLINGTON, Va. – As part of the reorganization of its government relations department, NASCUS has selected Sandra Troutman, formerly director of corporate communications at WesCorp, as its new Executive Vice President of Government Relations. Troutman replaces Jonathan Lindley, who served as vice president of national advocacy and had worked at NASCUS since 2001. Troutman is expected to begin her work with NASCUS in early May, but the association said an exact start date still has to be finalized. Troutman plans to relocate from southern California, where WesCorp is located, to the Arlington, Va.-area. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of La Vern College of Law, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of La Vern, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University at Fullerton. Troutman said she was excited to accept a position that will help to promote the state credit union system. “The state credit union system is very important and has been under-appreciated, I think, for the contributions it has made. I think of the state system as an aquifer in that it is permeable which enables new ideas and initiatives to bubble up through the state regulatory agencies and legislatures and be shared, improved and adopted by other states. Eventually, many of these expanded ideas and services have become adopted by the federal credit union system. Historically, the state chartered credit union system has been a great learning laboratory for the entire credit union structure,” said Troutman.
