WASHINGTON-Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile runners ignored the cold rain, wind gusts and temperatures in the low 40′s and focused more on the event. “The energy and vitality of credit unions kept us warm,” Children’s Miracle Network, Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc. Chairman Juri Valdov, president and CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union, said. As race chair, he added he had too much to do to train properly and did not run the race this year, but when the gun went off, he said he got “itchy” to take off with the rest of the runners. The Cherry Blossom Run raised more than $325,000 for Children’s Miracle Network, Valdov said. He explained they were still waiting on funds raised by individual credit unions and would not have a final tally until after press time.
