RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Lucy Ito, vice president of the World Council of Credit Unions, will begin work May 3 as a vice president of the California Credit Union League where she will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the league’s research and information department and to other CCUL information and credit union service-related functions. Ito has been with WOCCU for 14 years, starting as research and information specialist, and later serving as a project manager and regional manager. She assumed the position of director of marketing and program development in 1996, and in 1997 was named director of technical services. She has served as vice president since 2000, providing organizational direction for WOCCU’s technical services programs in Central/Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Asia, as well as oversight for WOCCU’s International Remittance Network (IRnet), international meetings and conferences, and the WOCCU Young Credit Union People program. She currently serves as chairman for the Overseas Cooperative Development Council, and also serves on the boards of the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion Network, and WOCCU Services Group.
