PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Federal Credit Union is playing up the National Credit Union Youth Week theme of YOUth Make a Difference through several events planned for April 18-24 and beyond. Youth week promotions kicked off in early April with the introduction of a new PFCU Scholarship Program , which will award four $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in May 2004. Philadelphia FCU Financial Educator Karl Bernhard, and Kids Club mascot Moola Moola, will stop by Ivy Leaf School to teach third graders about the importance of money and savings and Polly Siciliano, PFCU Bloomsburg branch manager, will also promote financial literacy to eight graders at Bloomsburg Middle School. In addition, every PFCU branch will hand out “Best Adventures in Savings” activity books to kids 12 and under and, “Guide To Money” booklets to teens. A Youth Savings Challenge will roll-out on May 1. A child’s name will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, for every $25 that is deposited into either a PFCU Moola Moola Kids Club account or CU Succeed Teen Club account,. The PFCU Youth Savings Challenge will run until July 31, 2004.
