WASHINGTON-Telesis Community Credit Union CEO Grace Mayo has been elected to a seat on CUNA’s Board after beating out two other candidates in a special election. Mayo’s first term will be a brief one, ending in October when she will have to run again to retain the District 6, Class B seat (credit unions with 15,000 to less than 60,000 members). She won the seat over Chris Loseth of Potlatch No. 1 FCU in Lewiston, Idaho and Dean Christensen of Coast Central CU in Eureka, Calif. Ron McDaniel resigned the seat earlier this year when he left Point Mugu Federal Credit Union ($232 million in assets) to head up the $1 billion The California Credit Union, which was outside his former board seat’s class size. CUNA Board members are restricted to three, three-year terms within the class size they are elected to.
