SACRAMENTO, Calif.- Looking to “jazz-up” its 2003 milestone festivities SAFE Credit Union hosted its own Grammy awards show. “The Grammys award ceremony was a dramatic way to reflect on our successes from the previous year,” said SAFE CU President Henry Wirz. “No ordinary event would do for our extraordinary employees!” The SAFE Grammys celebration featured the Annual SAFE Encore Service awards, a review of SAFE’s 2003 performance, and a selection of music videos. Videos were produced and arranged by SAFE CU staffers who performed hits by such artists as Blondie, AC/DC and the Temptations. “It couldn’t have gone any better, ” said SAFE CU Senior Trainer Kathy Gatten. “ It was a great way to bring out the creativity and personality of our coworkers. Of course, we already knew they were stars.” Staffers who demonstrate outstanding member service were honored with the SAFE Encore Award and $500. This year’s winners include Tim Hughes, Dana Cochran-Lanzaro, David Shaw, Jill Cobb, Jeanette Reilly, Gail Draper, Satinder Bola, Christopher Singh, Noelle Carskaddon, Jill LaVergne, the Watt Avenue branch, and the SAFE Call Center and Folsom Branch leadership teams. In addition, Wirz presented Vanessa Oddo the Chairman’s Award for her efforts and leadership in the area of loss prevention and Lois Paul the President’s Award for demonstrating outstanding member service as Rocklin branch manager. The event wrapped up with performances by local Sacramento Beatles cover band the BBCs.
