BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Credit Union Network and four representatives from the Paraguayan credit union association CENCOPAN signed a formal partnership agreement on March 25 as part of the World Council of Credit Union's Partnership Program. MCUN and CENCOPAN were paired in the fall of 2003. Their meeting with WOCCU was the first meeting of the two organizations. That same day the groups held a planning session to develop a cooperative work plan that defines specific objectives for their partnership effort. The three objectives include: allowing MCUN Directors and Network staff to become acquainted with the board and staff of CENCOPAN; to assist the Paraguayans with legislative and regulatory development; and to help CENCOPAN advance technology.
