MADISON, Wis. – As trust services continue to impact the credit union industry, many are needing answers to questions about opening up such accounts. The CUNA Center for Professional Development is hoping to have the answers at two Webinars on the subject. The April 14 Trust Account Webinar is already full, CUNA reports, but interested participants can still register for the April 28 session. Designed for front-line staff, tellers, member service representatives, and operational staff, the Webinar will include discussion on learning the differences between a trustee and a trustor, even when they are the same person; avoiding confusion when converting a regular account to a trust account; distinguishing whether a trust is formal or informal; determining whether to set up an Uniform Transfers to Minors Act (UTMA) or a Totten trust and covering share insurance rules for trust accounts. The April 28 Webinar will take place 3:00-4:30 EST. For registration information, log on to www.training.cuna.org.
