ALBANY, N.Y. – Former New Hampshire Senator Warren Rudman will keynote Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union’s upcoming Economic Forum discussing how the 2004 elections will impact the financial industry. Rudman is best known for co-authoring the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings deficit reduction law and cross-examining Oliver North during the Iran-Contra hearings. He was appointed Attorney General of New Hampshire in 1970 and served in the U.S. Senate from 1980-1992. During this period, he was appointed to the Senate Appropriations Committee, the Ethics Committee, the Intelligence Committee, the Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Rudman is also the author of Combat-Twelve Years in the U.S. Senate. His presentation at the Forum is titled “From the Voting Booth to The Day After: What the 2004 Elections Mean for the Financial Industry.” The Forum will also feature Nick Perna, PhD, the corporate’s new resident economist. Perna, who specializes in economic analysis, forecasting, and strategy and has held the position of economist for a number of blue chip companies and major banking institutions, will have a presentation titled “The Economy is Speaking but What is it Saying?
