WOBURN, Mass. – Former Boston Bruin Gord Kluzak will bring the leadership lessons he learned during his eight-year run as a defenseman in the National Hockey League to this year’s EasCorp and ALM First Financial Advisors’ Partnership Conference. Kluzak now works as an investment professional in private wealth management at Goldman Sachs & Co., but he still does color commentary for the Boston Bruins. His presentation is titled “Leadership in Action: Lessons from the World of Sports.” John Ryding, chief market economist and senior managing director for Bear Stearns, will also speak on “Forecast for the U.S. Economy and Financial Markets.” Before joining Bear Stearns in 1991, he was the senior economist on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Open Market Desk. Previously, he headed up the Bank of England’s Economic Forecasting Group. The Partnership Conference also will include two debates – “Credit Union to Bank Conversions: Who Stands to Benefit?” and “Compensation for Elected Officials: A Sensible Strategy to Attract and Retain Talent or a Risky Shift in Philosophy?” The debates will take place between local credit union executives with Franois Henriquez, senior vice president/general counsel, U.S. Central Credit Union, serving as moderator.
