FORT WORTH, Texas – EECU is hitting the ice with Central Hockey League's Fort Worth Brahmas. The $520 million CU has been named the official credit union of the professional minor hockey league team. "We are always looking for opportunities to serve the community," said President and CEO Robert Rogers. "We believe community involvement is extremely important. It sets us apart from other companies who aren't as visible in the community." The partnership with the Brahmas includes EECU's advertising on the ice, two dasher boards, one backlit drop at the concession stand, signage inside the arena, as well as advertising in the official Brahmas game program. EECU also has two ATMs inside the Fort Worth Convention Center as part of the deal. EECU will be promoting its partnership with the Brahmas at credit union sponsored events, such as the Keller Festival, the Honey fest, the Mustang Stampede 5K Fun Run, and the Train and Grain Festival to name a few. Several fun events were held to kick off the new team affiliation including a "Hat Trick" contest where any new member who opened a checking and savings account, in addition to taking out a new loan, had their name put into a drawing for a framed and autographed Brahmas jersey signed by the entire team. EECU also held a "tug-of-war" between Bruiser, the Brahmas mascot, and Dollar Dog, EECU's children's mascot. Children were chosen from the audience to participate. Dollar Dog proved victorious and children received gifts for their participation.
