Central Florida Educators’ Federal Credit Union, Orlando, has recognized the following outstanding employees: Fran Perez, Manager of the Year; Nan Fogle, Employee of the Year; Mary Hensel, Employee of the Month; and Linh Dang Distinguished Manager of the Fourth Quarter. Award recipients were selected based on performance, teamwork and service to the credit union. People’s Alliance Federal Credit Union, Hauppauge, N.Y., Vice President of Human Resources Patty O’Connell has been honored by the Chamber of Commerce Regional Business Partnership. O’Connell was recognized for her dedication and hard work on the Smithtown Central School District’s Industry Advisory Board. Royal Credit Union, Eau Claire, Wis., has awarded the Lifetime Volunteer Award to seven RCU members. Carolyn Buvala, Roger Dahl, Robert Davey, Viola Davey, Ray Kranig, Bud LaRose and Clara Walde were recognized for donating over 5,500 hours of their time to their communities. RCU now has a total of 56 Lifetime Volunteers. Community Trust Credit Union, Gurnee, Ill., Centralized Lender Diane Thelen has celebrated her 15-year anniversary. The credit union honored its “invaluable asset” and credit Thelen’s dedication and hard work for her success. Saugus Federal Credit Union, Mass., has presented the Lifetime Achievement award to board directors Dr. Herbert F. Upton and Raymond P. DeFranzo. Both directors were recognized for their years of service, dedication to the credit union and commitment to promoting the principles and philosophy of the credit union. Upton has been a member of the SFCU board for 32 years and DeFranzo has been a director for 29 years. Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., has received a Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Award from the Colorado Credit Union League for its Youth Endowment Series (YES). YES is Ent Federal’s ongoing grant program to support activities and organizations benefiting children in the Pikes Peak region. In it’s first four years, YES has recognized 32 local non-profit organizations with major program grants and many others with minor grants for a total contribution of $119,900 Spokane Teachers Credit Union, Wash., has been recognized by the Washington Credit Union League for its outstanding efforts in the areas of community involvement and the application of credit union philosophy in day-to-day operations. STCU was awarded second place for both the Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility for its support of the Pathways Program and the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action for its support of youth financial education. In addition, STCU has named Tammy Fleiger the 2003 Employee of the Year and its training department the 2003 Team of the Year. Pacific Service Credit Union, Walnut Creek, Calif., has been recognized for its continuing support of the California Community Partnership for the Prevention of Financial Abuse’s (CCPPFA) efforts. CCPPFA works to prevent the financial abuse of elders and dependent adults. Pacific Service CU was honored for understanding its responsibility in safekeeping the finances of senior members. Community Choice Credit Union, Livonia, Mich., has been presented first place honors in the Member Segmented Marketing Category of the 2003 Blue Water Marketing Award for its “CU at School” program. Sponsored by the Michigan Credit Union League and the Michigan Credit Union Marketing Alliance, the award honors excellence in CU marketing/public relations designed to help kindergarten through post secondary school age children understand the value of money and prepare them for their financial futures. Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union, Sranton, Pa., has named Dawn Rembish the Perfect Teller for 2003. Rembish was recognized for never experiencing an overage/shortage for the entire year. TADFCU CEO Jim Kanaley, Branch Manager Brandi Seymour, Head Teller Melissa Laurito, and Teller Supervisor Barb Pelak were all on hand to present a check to Rembish. Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif., has announced the winners of its 2003 Educators First Award program. The award recognizes the remarkable dedication and achievements of educators who serve in Orange County and its surrounding counties. Teri Krueger of Wagner Elementary School in Yorba Linda, Calif., was chosen as the year’s Outstanding Certificated Educator and Richard Hendrickson of Webber Elementary in Westminster, Calif., was chosen as the year’s Outstanding Classified Educator. Each winner received a $1,000 cash prize. Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Radcliff, Ky., President/CEO William J. Rissel has been presented the Gold Award, which is the highest honor given by the Radcliff-Hardin County Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented annually to an individual for his or her outstanding service to the Radcliff community and who represents the true spirit of the quality of life in the community.
